The CostCare Team

Each of our owners is also a seasoned healthcare provider. Together, they have more than 40 years experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine. They are united in their commitment to make healthcare not only affordable, but also accessible. In fact, often when you visit CostCare, you’re seen by one of our owner/practitioners.

Our Owners

Dr. Carol Bridges, M.D.

Carol was raised in Upland, California and in 1991 graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of California, Irvine. She went on to attend the University’s College of Medicine, receiving an M.D. in 1995. For the following three years, Carol performed her residency training in Family Medicine in Spokane Washington. She moved to Missoula in 1998 to practice full-spectrum family medicine, including Obstetrics. Since 2004, she has specialized in Emergency Room and Urgent Care medicine.

Lesley Von Eschen, PA-C

Lesley grew up in Chinook, Montana, home of the Sugarbeeters! She earned her Physician Assistant degree from Idaho State University in 1998. The early part of her career was spent practicing rural emergency medicine in Montana, Idaho, and Washington state. In 2001 she moved to Missoula to be closer to her family. It was here (with her amazing friend and business partner, Carol!) that she began to expand her practice into urgent care and family medicine with the realization that medical care could be offered through an entirely different model providing top quality care at affordable prices. Today she continues to work in the clinics on occasion but spends most of her time operating the business aspect of CostCare. She is passionate about using her medical knowledge and experience along with her entrepreneurial approach to business to continue advocating for access to healthcare while maintaining a socially responsilbe approach that is financially sustainable for individuals, businesses, and insurance companies.

Our Providers

Josh Smith, FNP

Josh received his BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) in 2001. He received his MSN and FNP degrees in the spring of 2008 from the University of Georgia. While he specializes in Family Practice, primarily at our Mullan location, he has worked in hospital emergency departments and his certifications include PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC and STN. Josh is married with two young sons and a daughter. He enjoys hunting, flyfishing and apparently, home repairs.

Jamie Armstrong, MD

Jamie originally grew up in Kalispell, MT. He attended Princeton University with a degree in history. He attended medical school at the University of Vermont and met CostCare owner, Carol Bridges, during his internship in Spokane, WA. That led to a lifelong friendship and allowed him to become part of the CostCare team. He completed his residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Scottsdale, AZ.

Jenny Larson, FNP

Jenny received her BSN and MSN from Montana State University. She specializes in urgent care and works at each of the Missoula clinics. She lives with her husband and two boys and takes in all Montana has to offer. If you can’t find her at CostCare, she is most likely skiing, hiking, skating, swimming, or floating the river.

Kathy Dexter, DNP, APRN, FNP

Kathy was born and raised in Gilroy, CA and is still an avid lover of garlic. She moved to Idaho and started her education a little over 20 years ago as an EMT in 1996 when her children were still small. She became a paramedic in 2002, an RN in 2007 and worked in the ER and the ICU. She was also a part time instructor for the local community college in Twin Falls, Idaho. In 2011 she climbed into an Air St. Luke’s helicopter and began her career as a flight nurse/paramedic. She obtained her BSN from Idaho State University and her doctorate of nursing practice from the University of Utah in 2016. She has a soft spot for public service, community health and teaching. Kathy loves a good backpacking adventure, camping and road biking. Montana is the perfect place for her. If she hasn’t already, she will tell you to go outside and get some sun on your face.
